Navarati’s are starting from 26th sep till 4th Oct 2022. The Navarati is associated to the prominent battle that took place between Durga and the demon Mahishasura to celebrate the victory of good over evil. These nine days are solely dedicated to Durga and her nine avatars. The nine forms of Mata Durga which is worshipped during Navratri are: Shailputri on Pratipada; Brahmacharini on Dwitiya; Chandarghanta on Tritiya; Kushmanda on Chaturthi; Skand Mata on Panchami; Katyayani on Shashthi; Kaalratri on Saptami; Mahagauri on Ashtami and Siddhidatri on Navami. Navratri, a 9-day long festival is celebrated twice a year. The first Navratri of the year, Chaitra Navratri is celebrated in the months of March-April. It is also called Vasant Navratri as it falls in the spring season. While the Navratri festival celebrated in the autumn season is called Sharad Navratri. One of the many reasons why this festival is widely celebrated is to receive blessings of the Goddess with the aim of being granted wealth, prosperity, as well as knowledge.We should offer Water. Offering water to the Goddess is considered to be very auspicious during Navratri. Stay bare-foot and wear clean clothes, observe Fasts, decorate Goddess Durga, Perform Kanya puja on Ashtami, light Akhand Jyoti, Maintain Brahmacharya.
