A Festive Dussehra! This Year 2022 the Vijayadashami…

This year the festival Dussehra is on Wednesday, 05 October which is also known as the day of Vijayadashami. At the conclusion of Navaratri every year, the Hindu festival of Vijayadashami, often referred to as Dussehra, Dasara, or Dashain, is one of the most important occasions. We celebrate Dussehra as the victory of Ram Ji, a Vishnu avatar, over the ten-headed Sri Lanka king Ravana, who kidnapped Ram ji’s wife Maa Sita from jungle tricking her by costuming as a saint. On the other hand, the fight between Ram Ji and the evil Ravana at Lanka also a prestige of good over evil. In Dussehra, effigies of Ravan, Meghnad and Kumbhkarn are commonly burnt in public spaces as a symbolic gesture to mark the victory of good over evil. Also, on this day Indians and our Forces do ‘Shastra Puja’ across the country.
