One of the most popular biggest festivals of Hinduism, Deepavali symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance”. Deepavali is a Hindu religious festival of lights and is one of the most important festivals within Hinduism. The festival usually lasts five days and is celebrated during the Hindu lunisolar month Kartik (between mid-October and mid-November). The festival is widely associated with Lakshmi Ji goddess of prosperity and Ganesh Ji god of wisdom and the remover of obstacles. Furthermore, it is a celebration of the day Ram Ji returned Ayodhya with his wife Sita Ji and his brother Lakshman after defeating the Ravan in Lanka and serving 14 years of Vanvas. Diwali is usually celebrated twenty days after the Vijayadashami (Dussehra festival. Starts with Dhanteras, marking the first day of the festival when celebrants prepare by cleaning their homes and making decorations on the floor, such as rangolis and purchasing something new for themselves or for their home. The day after Lakshmi Puja is marked with the Govardhan Puja and while other Hindu and Sikh craftsmen communities mark this day as Vishwakarma Puja. The last day as Bhai Dooj which is dedicated to the bond between sister and brother.
